ROUTING OF APPLICATIONS

Any member may submit the name of a prospective member to the Vice Commodore, provided the prospective member submits a completed club membership application form together with the prescribed fees so adopted at the time by the Board of Governors. Please remember that all questions on the application should be answered. If not, the application will be returned, which could delay approval. The sponsoring member is asked to bring the prospective member to a General Membership Meeting where he or she will be introduced to the membership. The membership application will be read and either the prospective member, the Vice Commodore or any club member can ask any questions. The application will then be reviewed at the next Board of Governor’s Meeting, after which it will be posted in the clubhouse for a period of one month prior to recommendation for final action of the Board of Governors. During this interim posting the membership committee shall continue to investigate the applicant and shall make any inquiry of the General Membership as to the applicant’s qualifications. Also, during this time, the prospective member is encouraged to attend General Membership Meetings and any planned club affairs and cruises. After one month, the application will be removed from the bulletin board by the chairperson of the Membership Committee and presented to the Board of Governors for approval. Provided tthe Board of Governors approves the application, it is then passed on to the Treasurer for membership card and number assignment. The Treasurer then passes the application to the Vice Commodore for inclusion in the clubs’ records. The Vice Commodore shall notify the applicant in writing of his or her membership, send the membership card, a current plan of action, a copy of the by-laws and any other information deemed relevant at that time. Two (2) negative votes shall reject an applicant. No rejected applicant shall be proposed again within 6 months thereafter. The Treasurer will refund all fees to the applicant. Any limitations on the number of regular members shall be determined by a vote of the membership.

Incomplete applications will delay this process. All applications NEED two White Rocks Yacht Club Members signatures.
